Finding Form

Finding Form was born from the desire to be creative, experiment and have fun during lockdown. It’s an exploration of shape and colour transformed by time. The importance of the project is heavily weighted on the processes and stages taken to reach the end result, as much as the result itself. It was really cathartic for me, bringing together shapes and colours and playing with sculptural forms. These are then shot over a long exposure, allowing me to introduce movement that leaves behind a satisfying graduation of colour that is is fluid and soft. It is far removed from the sculptural blocky shape it originated from, but that’s what the process does: it surprises and transforms. It is the combination of all the elements that lead to the intrinsic abstract, saturated and graphic nature of the work.
